United Earth Forces is losing the 45-year war with the ultimately vicious conquering race, the Trikillians.
Strong, beautiful Captain Karen Blackwell and her war-hardened crew of Starship Orpheus are sent on a mission deep into Trikillian space. They are to retrieve an ultimate weapon that may turn the tides of war for Earth.
The Trikillians relentlessly savage Starship Orpheus in a series of intense space battles. Blackwell and her crew are tested to their limits.
Square jawed and handsome First Officer Lohrentz, who once had an affair with Captain Blackwell, feels the mission to be futile. He threatens to lead the crew into open rebellion.
Tensions further mount as Starship Orpheus is badly damaged, forcing Captain Blackwell to cut off air supply to all but the bridge crew. Disarmingly beautiful security officer McKelvey and dashing Navigation Officer Atchnikoff lose their loves as a result.
The Trikillians increase their space assaults to a frenzied level. Overwhelming numbers of alien ships are sent in to prevent Starship Orpheus from intervening in Earth's final destruction. The strangely alluring female-model robot Alpha compounds matters by supplying unarguable logic as to the mission's slim odds of success.
During all this, Blackwell suspects a spy on board. Someone seems to be controlling a device that can cause strange time and reality shifts.
Brimming with cool special effects and a haunting surprise ending, Starship Orpheus delivers big on action-packed, sci-fi entertainment.
